This glacier is located in the Valparaíso region. It’s a valley glacier whose front is covered with rocky material, which descends due to the gravity of the hillsides that frame it.
From 1955 to 2006, the Juncal Norte Glacier lost 16 % of its surface area (Bown et al., 2008).
